INTRODUCTION
Just like that, this is my final newsletter of 2023!Â
Ever since I wrote a post like this last year, I wondered what these years would look like…who was I going to be?
At the start of each year, I set myself some unrealistic career goals which usually never stick, but this year I think mostly all of which have been achieved. For several years, I’ve dreamed of starting a certain project, and finally now it is very much in the works and upcoming meetings for this idea begin in January.
When 2023 began, I thought I would focus on my studies and tune into university life more, but I couldn’t be more wrong if I tried. Even though I do take university seriously, I feel that I must be creating and achieving elsewhere. There is just something inside me that can’t let what I want to achieve slip. University has been a crazy ride where it’s difficult to find time to do anything else, but I seem to be mad enough to be spinning all types of plates and if I’m honest – I love it! I would go insane if all I did in Bath was just university!
In this newsletter, I am reminiscing on my favourite moments over 2023, but also looking forward into 2024.
LOOKING BACK ON THE YEAR
Looking back on 2023, through the highs and lows I managed to turn a handful of my dreams into reality. From working at the Theatre Royal, Bath Festivals, and working currently working for two producers. Never in my wildest dreams did I go into this year thinking I was going to produce my first production nor be the director of my own production company. Sometimes when you think all doors are closed, they slowly open.
Back in July I worked for Fools Delight Circus as an assistant director. This gave me a huge insight of how a circus show is pieced together on a smaller scale where I could soak everything in and learn the ropes at the same time.
I am very driven by my future and turning my goals and ambitions into a reality with the stories I share. Looking back at the past year, I am proud of myself for never giving up, especially with everything that has been thrown at me throughout.
EXTRA SHOW ADDED FOR THE RINGMASTER!
Have you heard the news? We will now be showing two performances of The Ringmaster – a matinee at 2:30pm and an evening showing at 5:30pm. Time is ticking, and it isn’t long before we open at The Cotswold Playhouse. Rehearsals have begun and we’re coming back bigger and better, I can’t to show everyone what we’ve been keeping up our sleeves.
HARVEY AYLMER PRODUCTIONS X MOONFLOWER: WINDOW DISPLAY
I am very excited to be sharing a window display with Moonflower which is a gift shop in the heart of Stroud. The window display will adorn the front of the shop up until 10th February. Do tag us on socials if you happen to pop by - @harveyaylmerproductions.
LOOKING TO THE FUTURE: 2024
This time next year I would love to look back on my year and see that I’ve not only worked hard on my own ambitions but also let my hair down a bit more at university. In September I will be heading into my final year, so I would love to soak everything in before the real hard work begins!
Thank you to everyone who has read my newsletters this year!
Next year, the plan is to continue with the newsletters but less regularly. The plan is to write as much or as little as I feel and not to put pressure on myself.
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading the final newsletter of 2023.
